Pastured Poultry

Orders placed now will be delivered on November 22 with your CSA share pick-up. Be sure to check the list to verify that we sent what you ordered, then look for your chicken order in the cooler at your pick up site.

Certified organic pastured raised chickens from Spring Creek Dairy in Wernersville, PA, just west of Reading and Sinking Spring. Spring Creek has been raising organic cows for milk for many years and has incorporated chickens into their pastures in the last few years.  Multi-species grazing makes better use of the pasture land and each animal can fit into their ecological niche.  The cattle graze first and the chickens come in a day or two later and help spread out the manure and eat the abundant insects.

These chickens are the large breasted kind with tender meat, raised as broilers.

The price listed under the item name is the price per pound.
